Lago de Sanabria is a deep, clear glacial lake ringed by a natural park of high lagoons and granite - flatwater paddling and swimming in warm summer water, far from anywhere.
In season: Jun–Sep · Peak: Jul–Aug
Easy flatwater across the lake to Ribadelago and into the reedy Tera inflow; the high Laguna de los Peces needs a portage. Warm, calm summer days are best.
Across the largest glacial lake in Iberia
Shallow paddling into the inflow and the reed beds
Portage up to the high lake above the valley
Base in Puebla de Sanabria or at the lake and rent a kayak on the shore. Summer only for warm water; the park has swimming beaches too.
