The Owl Mountains carry the Enduro Trails Sowie Góry, the most ambitious purpose-built trail network in the country, with flowing berms, technical rock gardens and long forest descents off Wielka Sowa. Wartime tunnel entrances from Project Riese sit right beside the singletrack, which gives the riding a strange, haunted edge.

What to expect

Graded, waymarked trails from blue flow lines to black enduro descents, with plenty of climbing on forest roads in between. The rock is gneiss and granite, often wet under the trees, so good tyres matter.

How to start

Base in Walim, Rzeczka or Sokolec, where the trailheads and bike hire are. Start on the blue and red lines around Rzeczka before committing to the black descents off Wielka Sowa.
