Why go

Moab's sandstone gives tyres grip like nowhere else, and its trail network ranges from the famous Slickrock Trail to the Whole Enchilada, a 42 km descent from alpine forest in the La Sal Mountains to the desert floor. Arches and Canyonlands national parks sit on the doorstep.

What to expect

Technical riding on rock ledges, sand and exposed rims, with heat and a lack of water the main dangers. Shuttles serve the big descents, and there are gentler trails for building up.
