Why go

The Fruit Bowl is a small canyon rim on public land outside Moab, where sandstone fins and towers make natural anchors for lines of every length. Each Thanksgiving it hosts a gathering of highliners and base jumpers, and the desert light is spectacular.

What to expect

Dry, windy desert conditions, primitive camping and lines up to 120 m high above the canyon floor. Rigging is done by the community, and newcomers are expected to learn before walking.

How to start

Camp on the public land near the rim, following Leave No Trace rules. Join the Thanksgiving gathering or go with experienced riggers, and start on the shorter lines.
