Taft Point sits on the south rim of Yosemite Valley, where fissures in the granite drop hundreds of metres towards the valley floor, with El Capitan across the way. The short highline across the gap there has become one of the defining images of the sport.
In season: May–Oct · Peak: Sep
A short, exposed line with a huge drop and crowds of hikers watching. Park rules and conditions change, so rigging must be done responsibly and without damaging the rock.
Walk to Taft Point from the Glacier Point Road and check current park regulations on slacklining. Go with experienced riggers, and walk only if you are confident on exposed lines.
