Pedraforca·Spain

Pedraforca is the most recognisable mountain in Catalonia - twin rock prongs split by a scree gully, above the village of Gosol. Climbing it is a rite of passage for Catalan walkers.
In season: May–Oct · Peak: Jun–Jul, Sep
A steep, loose scramble up the Canal del Verdet between the forks, or the standard route from Gosol; the Enforcadura traverse is exposed. A big, rocky day, not a stroll.
The standard route to the summit from Gósol
Up the scree gully between the two forks, the classic ascent
Between both forks, exposed and scrambly
Drive to Gosol or the Mirador de Gresolet. Go early to beat the heat and the crowds on the gully, and take a helmet for the loose scree.
