Wildlife watching in Serengeti
Tanzania
A week in the northern Serengeti timed to the migration, watching a million wildebeest decide to cross.

The Salto del Gitano cliff hangs with griffon and black vultures, black storks and the odd Spanish imperial eagle, all viewable from the roadside. Monfragüe is the most accessible big-birding in Spain.
In season: Feb–Jun · Peak: Mar–May
Easy, family-friendly viewpoints and short dehesa walks — no skill needed, just optics and timing. Spring, February to June, is peak, with the birds on the nest and the cork-oak parkland alive.

Base in Torrejón el Rubio or Trujillo. Bring binoculars and a scope; the Salto del Gitano and Castillo viewpoints are the two you cannot miss, best at first light.
