Why go

Behind the volcanic Garrotxa lies a wilder limestone country of deep gorges, and Sant Aniol is its jewel: a canyon of clear pools and jumps in a valley with no road in, reached on foot. It is the finest canyoning near Girona, with harder technical descents like Salt del Brull alongside.

What to expect

Aquatic canyoning with swims, slides, jumps and abseils; Sant Aniol is playful and remote, others are steep and rope-heavy. Summer flows are safest, and a wetsuit is standard.
