Epic5 days on the ground

Why go

Green Velo runs two thousand kilometres down Poland's eastern border and the Podlasie section is the best of it: flat, quiet roads, painted wooden houses, Orthodox churches with onion domes, and the two Tatar villages of Kruszyniany and Bohoniki where timber mosques have stood since the seventeenth century.

The traffic is almost nonexistent, the food is different from the rest of the country, and the whole region feels like a border zone in the old sense.
