Rio de Janeiro is built between granite domes, the morros, and local highliners rig lines between them with Sugarloaf, Copacabana and the bay as the view. It is one of the few places where highlining feels part of city life.
In season: May–Oct · Peak: Jun–Aug
Warm, humid days, short hikes to the anchors and lines with dramatic urban backdrops. Some areas need local knowledge for safety.
Connect with Rio's slackline community, who rig on the morros such as Morro da Urca. Go in the drier winter months, and never rig alone.
