Zhangjiajie National Forest Park holds thousands of quartz-sandstone pillars rising from misty valleys. International highline events have rigged record lines between the towers, in one of the most surreal settings in the sport.
In season: Apr–Jun, Sep–Nov · Peak: Oct
Access through the national park with permission for rigging, mist and humidity, and huge crowds of sightseers on the viewpoints. Rigging here happens mainly at organised events.
Follow Chinese and international highline events, as rigging needs park permission. Visit the park itself any time, and take a guided route to the pillar viewpoints.
