The Nysa Kłodzka gathers water from the mountains around the Kłodzko Valley and runs fast past old valley towns and the Kłodzko fortress, then cuts a gorge through the Bardo Mountains below a pilgrimage basilica. It is one of the few real mountain-river paddles in Lower Silesia.

Quick current and small rapids on the upper and middle river, calmer water below, with the Bardo gorge as the highlight. Levels depend on rain, and the narrow upper run near Międzylesie only goes in high water.

Hire a kayak with shuttle around Kłodzko or Bardo. Paddle Kłodzko to Bardo for the gorge, and try the Bystrzyca Kłodzka to Kłodzko stretch once you know the river.
