The Wełna is one of the most interesting paddling rivers in Wielkopolska, running fast and narrow through woods and steep banks between Rogoźno and Oborniki. At Wągrowiec it crosses the Nielba at a right angle, a rare river crossing that paddlers come specially to see.
In season: Apr–Sep · Peak: May–Aug
Quick current, sharp bends and overhanging branches that call for good boat control, with calmer stretches between. Levels drop in late summer, so spring and early summer are best.

Hire a kayak with transport around Rogoźno or Oborniki. Paddle the Rogoźno to Oborniki run once you are comfortable steering in current.
